Welcome to Guildbrook Farm

Guildbrook Farm is a modern homestead in the foothills of Appalachia. We take our audience along on a journey to become more self-reliant by growing our own organic produce, raising animals for dairy and eggs, preparing food for long-term storage, and building off the grid renewable energy systems. In 2017, we moved to raw land where we are building a debt-free energy efficient and disaster resistant ICF mountain home. Join us as we learn to live a simple, sustainable lifestyle.

Making Homemade Ice Cream the Old Fashioned Way

Making Homemade Ice Cream the Old Fashioned Way

Homemade Goat Milk Custard Ice Cream Recipe

4 Cups Goat Milk
1 Cup Sugar (NOT 2!  Goodness that was an oversight!)
4 Egg Yolks
1-2 tsp Vanilla
Opt. Add Ins (Fruit, Cookies, Chocolate, Nuts, Brownies...you name it!)

Gently heat milk and sugar until milk is warmed and sugar is dissolved.  Beat egg yolks and pour into warm milk while whisking (to prevent curdling).  Remove from burner and add vanilla. Chill for at least 20 minutes before using in ice cream maker.
