VODKA PASTA BOLOGNESE RECIPE:
1 quart of crushed tomatoes
6 oz of tomato paste
1 lb ground Italian sausage, browned or canned
1 onion, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
5 basil leaves or 1 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup vodka
1/4-1/2 cream or half and half
Pinch red pepper flakes (opt)
Salt and pepper to taste
Soften onions in pot with some oil. Add garlic until slightly brown. Add tomatoes, paste, sausage and simmer covered for about 20 minutes. Add basil and vodka and cook another 10 minutes. Slowly add cream and stir. Serve with penne or pasta of choice.
